School Uniforms

Uniform Policy

GEO Next Generation Academy expects a level of professionalism from all who enter our building. The uniform is a reflection of the unified culture of high expectations that sets the professional tone/climate. A uniformed environment also allows for our Scholars to be constantly recognizable both on and off campus.

• Red, black, gray or white polo shirt 
• Red, black, gray or white crew neck sweatshirt (no hoodies)
• Red, black, gray or white sweater - must have a polo shirt underneath (not a t-shirt)
• Khaki or black pants or uniform skirt - no mini skirts or jeans (including black jeans)
• Closed shoes - no crocks, slides, slip ons

The following guidelines for our uniform policy will be strictly enforced beginning the first day of school.

 

Articles that are NOT permitted include the following:

• Any t-shirt that is not plain white/gray/black in color and free of printing under their uniform
• Coats, jackets, or sweatshirts/hoodies worn as outerwear are not to be worn inside of the building and must be removed immediately upon entry. 
• Clothing bearing any non-GEO Next Generation Academy logo, messages, or other insignia
• Shorts that are not of mid-thigh or longer  length
• Pants that are not acceptable uniform pants.
• Hats, bandanas, do-rags or scarves, bonnets, masks and any other head covering that has not been approved for religious reasons.
• Pants that are not uniform style (no elastic ankles, joggers, etc)
• Jeans/denim of any color are not permitted

 

FOOTWEAR

• Shoes must have a closed toe and heel. Shoelaces must be tied.
• No slippers, platform slip-ons, sandals, or backless footwear of any kind.

 

ACCESSORIES

• Earrings must not be larger than a quarter.
• No visible body piercing (including tongue piercing) is allowed, except on the ears. A small stud in the nose is permissible at the administrator’s discretion.
• Hair engravings (including lines and designs) that depict inappropriate/ offensive designs are not allowed.

 

EXCEPTIONS

• Spirit Wear
• Cheerleaders, dancers, and athletes on game days may wear their sport’s uniform or the attire that is required from the coach.
• On free dress days, all clothing must follow general uniform dress requirements.
• Official school sweatshirts can be worn in the building (no writing on shirt)
• Solid-colored black, gray or white long sleeve shirts may be worn under their uniform shirts for additional layers.
