CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

GEO Next Generation Academy’s Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program trains students and prepares them to pass the national certification exam administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Students are ready for careers in Medical Assisting.

  • 8 High School credits 
  • 8th & 9th graders can take  “Principals to Healthcare” to prepare 
  • 10th graders can take “Anatomy and Physiology”  to prepare 
  • This certificate could lead to CNA, LPN, RN and NP)  
  • CCMA contains 4 Courses:  
    • Principles of Healthcare 
    • Medical Terminology 
    • Certified Medical Clinical Assistant 
    • Healthcare Specialist Capstone – work-based learning

Pharmacy Technician

To become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPht), students must complete the GEO Next Generation Academy’s approved training program and pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam.

  • 8 High School credits 
  • 8th & 9th graders can take “Principals to Healthcare” to prepare  
  • 10th graders can take “Anatomy and Physiology”  to prepare 
  • Pharmacy Technician contains 4 courses:
    • Principles of Pharmacy Tech  
    • Medical Terminology 
    • Pharmacy Tech 
    • Pharmacy capstone – work-based learning

Vet Sciences

The Vet Science program trains students to be Approved Veterinary Assistants (AVA). The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) is a national credential earned after completing the GEO Next Generation Academy’s approved training program and passing the NAVTA exam.

  • 8 High School credits 
  • Veterinarian Technician National Certification exam 
  • Work-based learning experience off campus at employee partners.  
  • 11th - 12th grades 
  • Courses: 
    • Principles of Veterinary Science 
    • Veterinary Science 
    • Advanced Life Science, Animals 
    • Vet Science Capstone 

Urban Horticulture

  • 18 credit hours 
  • 8th & 9th graders can take “Introduction to Agriculture” to prepare 
  • 9th graders can begin the certificate track
  • Technical Certificate 
  • Work-based learning experience embedded in the program 
  • Courses: 
    • Principles of Agriculture 
    • Survey of Horticulture 
    • Soil Science 
    • Alternative Growing Methods 
    • Introduction to Vegetable Production 
    • Introduction to Greenhouse Management 
    • Urban Food and Agriculture 

Business

This 18-credit-hour Certificate is ideal for aspiring entrepreneurs and business development. It is a stackable credential for students who wish to pursue a Technical Certificate (also known as a Long-Term Certificate) and an associate degree.

Associates Degree

  • Indiana College Core (ICC) Diploma is embedded in this category

Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing

  • 18 credit hour Certificate. Students are workforce-ready for careers in bioprocessing and lab research. The Certificate is a gateway to entry-level biotechnology careers and foundational courses for an associate degree.

Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources
